St. Patrick’s Day parade marks saving the green at Holden House B&B in Colorado Springs!

Throughout the month of March, 2013, Holden House is pleased to invite you to share in the “Luck ‘O the Irish” with our March Madness special. Stay two nights and receive the 2nd night for just $75 or stay three nights and get the 3rd night for just $50! This is a savings of more than 30% off our regular rates of $145-165 per night plus tax.  And,  while you’re saving some green, you can enjoy one of the fun traditions in Colorado Springs and the Pikes Peak Region which includes the Saturday, March 16, 2013 St. Patrick’s Day Celebration. It’s true that everyone is Irish on St. Patrick’s Day and we welcome you to the St. Patrick’s Day Parade, 5K Race, kids’ Leprechaun Fun Run and 50K Pedalin’ for St. Pats Bike Ride.

At 8:30am, the riders of the Pedalin’ for St. Pat’s Bike Ride will begin the 50K bike ride through some of the most scenic parts of the city: Garden of the Gods, Blodgett Peak, Austin Bluffs and Memorial Park. After reaching Colorado College, they are invited to roll as part of the St Patrick’s Day Parade!

year’s St. Pat’s Day Parade

The 5K for St Patrick’s Day starts at 10:00am. Last year, more than 3400 runners took part in the traditional start of the running season in Colorado Springs. The flat, fast course is a great way to shake off the winter’s cobwebs and get ready for Springs! The Leprechaun Fun Run at 11:00 is for kids 10 and under, with ½ and 1 mile courses through the heart of downtown.

Marchers and spectators in their greenest finery: over 100 parade entries, including bands, floats, flags and leprechauns, one of the grandest traditions in Colorado Springs, and one of the biggest events on our city. Over 30,000 cheering revelers – young and old – will line the streets as the parade winds through the heart of Downtown to the sound of bagpipes beginning at noon.
