On Monday, August 22nd, the USA Pro Cycling Challenge, presented by USA Pro Cycling at Downtown Colorado Springs, will take place on the Westside of Colorado Springs. “For us, the great part of the event is the race route itself, considering that Holden House 1902 Bed & Breakfast Inn is just a quick block walk away for guests of the inn”, says Innkeeper/Owner, Sallie Clark. “We’re very lucky to have this great event here in the Pikes Peak Region, but also as a long-time Westsider, I’m especially excited to have the cycling route visible from our front porch!” Click here for the actual Colorado Springs race route.  Holden House is located at 11th Street and West Pikes Peak Avenue.

According to the USA Pro Cycling Challenge website, this special event is expected to be the largest spectator event in Colorado history and one of the largest sporting events to ever take place in the United States. For seven consedutive days, 128 of the world’s top athletes will race across almost 500 miles throught the majestic Rockies, reaching higher altitidues than they’ve ever had to endure, more than two miles in elevation. It’s the best of the best in professional cycling, competeing on a challenging course through some of America’s most beautiful scenery. One of the featured teams includes Lucas Euser from Napa, California. He was a 2008 member of the USA National team for the World Championships (ITA). Even though he was injured by a car during a training ride in May 2009, Lucas is one of the strongest climbers on Team Spidertech.

Special VIP tickets are available for additional events coordinated with the cycling event.
